GED Capital Development operates
in Romania through its whollyowned subsidiary GED
Consultancy Romania SRL. GED Capital Development
is owned by the management team along with Hypovereinsbank,
Gestlink, CGA Gestion and AxisIco. GED Capital
Development was appointed in 1996 to be the
Fund Manager of the
Romanian Post Privatisation Fund (RPPF), a 44 million
Euro private equity fund sponsored and 57% funded
by the EBRD (the other investors areEUPhare and GED
Eastern Fund).
The RPPF´s portfolio consists of 11 companies:
PC Net the leading Romanian ISP provider; Sicomed
the main local pharmaceuticals producer; Arctic the
sole Romanian refrigerators manufacturer; Continental
the countrywide business hotel chain; Isaf, operating
in railway signalling ; ASF, software developer; Regisco,
the second largest private shareholders´registry;
Vitalgaz gas and water distributor; Prestar, shareholder
in the telecom multinational Clearwave; Remayer, a
ferrous scrap recycling company; IRIDE, a real estate
firm. The RPPF's aim is to create longterm value for
its investors and significantly to contribute to the
prosperity of a diverse range of Romanian enterprises.
