Eric Stab joined the Gaz de France Group in 1991, as a Mergers and Acquisitions Project Manager. Two years later he was appointed Finance and Corporate Development Director of Gaz de France Deutschland GmbH, the Group's German holding subsidiary, where he remained until 1998 when he joined GASAG Berliner Gaswerke AG, the Berlin gas utility, as Senior Vice President in charge of Strategy, Corporate Development and Business Control.
Moving back to Gaz de France in Paris early 2000, Eric then took responsibility for direct sales development outside France as Head of European Gas Sales. In this role he set up Gaz de France's sales structures across Continental Europe.
In February 2004 Eric was appointed Chief Executive of Gaz de France ESS (now GDF SUEZ Energy UK), Gaz de France's UK energy supply and electricity generation subsidiary.
Since August 2008, following the merger between Gaz de France and Suez, Eric is President and Chief Executive of GDF SUEZ's energy activities in Eastern Europe, initially with headquarters in Vienna and now in Bucharest. He is also Executive Chairman of GDF SUEZ Energy România since early 2010.
Eric holds a Master in Management degree from ESCP Europe in Paris and is a graduate of the Stanford Executive Program.
